Bridge Piers Rehabilitation

Dominion Divers construction crew completed underwater concrete work to rehabilitate the piers located at St Andrews Lock and Dam.  Typical workflow process included concrete preparation, reinforcement bars, formwork, anchors and the concrete pour, all with limited to zero visibility.

The setup included the use of two barge platforms surrounding the pier, multiple swing stages, 40,000 psi pressure washer, pneumatic tools, concrete pump and various support equipment.

Dominion Divers custom forms were tailored for the underwater application which are efficient to install with minimal anchoring requirements.

For the projects quality insurance program, standard procedures were implemented with batch samples and cores taken at each pier.
